Mixblik Silsi 180g

Mixblik is a social enterprise that helps new Rotterdam women progress by preparing meals together. All recipes were originally contributed by the women who work at Mixblik. Our meals are healthy, vegetarian and easy to prepare. We cook as much as possible with organic and local ingredients! Silsi is an authentic tomato sauce full of surprises prepared with fresh onions and berbere. Berbere is a magical mix of spicy peppers and many different spices, including cloves, cumin and ground ground elder, a plant that you also see in many Dutch gardens. Eritreans share the meal with enjera, a sourdough flatbread. The women serve silsi on a large plate. The sauce is then folded into a piece of enjera and eaten with the hands. Of course you can also use a knife and fork. Silsi also tastes delicious with old-fashioned potatoes, rice and pasta. Or you can eat it as a dip with drinks.
